Keep Warm And Carry On

Fetch out your old parka from the cupboard and donate it to charity this Winter. You'll help vulnerable women keep the cold out - and get a nice warm feeling yourself.

Winter’s closing in and it’s time to buy yourself a nice new winter coat - or dig out an old one. But if you find yourself pushing past half a dozen old coats, as we do, we have a suggestion for how you can send them to a better home.

Liverpool’s Keep Warm Collective will be encouraging people in the city to collect warm clothing for vulnerable women in time for winter.

Kicking off next week - from 23 November - there will be a number of drop-off points around the city, then to be distributed to local charities in and passed onto vulnerable women.

Says Councillor Stephanie Till: Unfortunately some of the women of our city have had to resort to using the cities food banks this year.

“These are women who will put themselves last behind the needs of their family and will often go cold due to increasing energy prices and being without the finances to purchase adequate warm clothing.”

So, if you love your old coat, set it free from the cupboard under the stairs this Christmas.

Review: Bravo Figaro!

— A very different kind of show from Mark Thomas is a beautiful piece of work that doesn't patronise his father's illness, not ignore his frailties, as they connect over a love of opera.
