An accomplished poet, radio broadcaster, actor, comedian and panel show regular, Phill Jupitus has been doing ‘funny’ for well over 20 years now. And he’s not stopping any time soon.

His rather great new book ‘Good Morning Nantwich’, a powerful and witty love letter to breakfast radio, is out now and he’s doing a nationwide bookstore tour - aided and booked by his beloved Twitter - in support of it.

Here at SevenStreets we were particular fans of his breakfast show on BBC 6Music, which was a staple of our bleary-eyed mornings until Jupitus fell out spectacularly with station controller Lesley Douglas (who, lets face it, mustn’t have any clue about radio if she employed the execrable George Lamb).

Phill heads to Liverpool ONE’s Waterstone’s this Friday 12th November - a rare official stop in the city since he quit stand-up touring early in the 2000s. We don’t normally preview book events, but from what we’ve heard this one sounds like it’s a pretty relaxed and potentially enlightening Q&A and signing session: a nice change from the usual ‘queue up in the freezing cold’ celebrity cattleherding events. If you fancy hanging out with the man himself after you’ve finished work, bag yourself a ticket.
