Run Liverpool. And Birkenhead, and Wallasey…

It's a lovely day. Fancy a quick jog around the new Run Liverpool Marathon route, but you've forgotten your Asics? Why not do it from the comfort of your desk instead...

So you fancy tackling the debut Run Liverpool Marathon on 9 October? It’s just a walk in the park to you, right? Well, yeah, there’s the park, but then there’s the seafront, the tunnel, the city centre, the other park, the other, other park, and the waterfront… they don’t call it The Long And Winding Road Race for nothing you know. Although you may prefer to know it as Help!

The Marathon’s 26.2 miles actually takes in both sides of the River Mersey with a route taking in some of our region’s best sights. Although we doubt you’ll have much time to take that in. So how about we show you a little video we took when we ran it this morning. We did it in three minutes. But then, we haven’t really started training seriously yet.

Run Liverpool are accepting entries now, with 3,000 guaranteed places for Merseyside runners, a further 6,000 places available for everyone else, and 3,000 for charity entries. See you at the finishing line? We’ll bring the Bacofoil and Tena Lady.
