Win a Christmas Ghost Tour

Tinsel, turkey, all the trimmings... oh, and terror. Shiverpool's Christmas ghost tours bring a chill to the hardest of hearts. But they're a frighteningly good way to soak up some of the city's social history too.

We love the way Shiverpool warps any occasion into its fiendish alter-ego, with just the judicious application of a pun. From Vamp and Furnace to Scarewood Forest, via their latest, Satan Claws, they promise to scare the bejeezus out of you, whatever the time of year.

Their ‘Christmas can be bloody murder’ is right up our alley, offering a festive romp through Liverpool’s strange and unknown tales of Christmas past. And no, there’s no careline to call after it’s all over.

The Famous Hope Street Shivers tour runs Thursdays and Saturdays at 8.30 pm, meeting outside the Philharmonic Pub, Hope Street ands in the Gothic Majesty of the Anglican Cathedral Cemetery. Wheelchair accessible.

The Auld City Shivers runs Fridays at 7pm, Meeting at the Queen Victoria Monument, Derby Square. Ends 40ft beneath Castle Street in a maze of old Bank Vaults. Not wheelchair accessible.

Tickets are £13/£10 (but if you mention the SevenStreets promo code: SCROOGE - you get 20% off that price)

Both tours last approximately one and a half hours. Wrap up warm.

WIN A TOUR

We’ve two tours (for two) to win. Simply RT or ‘like’ on Facebook, and we’ll let you know by end of Tuesday 11 December.

Review: Bravo Figaro!

— A very different kind of show from Mark Thomas is a beautiful piece of work that doesn't patronise his father's illness, not ignore his frailties, as they connect over a love of opera.
