Radar: Tilt Dance Platform

Energetic, shape shifting and boundary pushing dance at the Kazimier, as Tilt comes to town.

Liverpool’s dance offering has never been stronger - with studios and ensembles grinding and whirring away on a perfectly choreographed year-round roll call of commissions, festivals and showcases.

Following a successful run in 2011, Liverpool’s TiLT Dance Studio is back with its first showcase of 2012. On Wednesday 4th & Thursday 5th April The Kazimier’s octagonal environs will host two evenings of dance performance from some of the region’s most exciting dance companies.

TiLT Dance Platform offers a heady mix of art, film, live music and dance - with new pieces created for the two day event.

Dancers Daniel Baird, Fenfen Huang, Vici Riley and musicians Simon Knighton, Ben Moneypenny and Joel Murray promise an event as eclectic as it’ll be athletic. If you thought Sparkle Motion pushed the boundaries of choreography to its limit, or Street Dance 2 was the ultimate in avant garde expression, you (probably) ain’t seen nothing yet.

In addition to all this multi-disciplinary wonder, TiLT Dance Studio will be showcasing plenty of local and regional performers. Confirmed to perform are The Oblique Strategists,
Liverpool John Moores University’s resident undergraduate dance troupe JMUpstart Dance Company and Jo Ashbridge & Co, with TiLT’s own Hollie-Ann Coleman improvising her way around the floor. Much like we do at the Kaz, actually. But probably more fun to watch.
