Loach Comes to Liverpool
Ken Loach comes to FACT for a special screening of his Liverpool/Iraq drama, Route Irish, next month.
Cruelly overlooked at the recent King’s Speech love in/awards fest, Ken Loach’s Iraq contractor drama Route Irish, is as meaty and finely paced a film as you’re likely to see this year. And Loach is heading to the city to talk about the film at a special preview screening next month.
The screening will be followed by a question and answer session with Loach and cast members of the film.
Picturehouse at FACT general manager Chris Peters said: “We’re thrilled to be hosting this special preview screening.
“Route Irish isn’t only partly set in Liverpool but stars a familiar Liverpool face or two, and it’s a real coup to have Ken in attendance. Ken is not only a Fact favourite but a real Liverpool favourite too and I’m sure it will be a thought-provoking, entertaining evening.”
Film locations include the Malmaison, Merseyside Dance Initiative on Hope Street, and the streets bordering St Bride’s Church.
