Fringe Theatre Friday

A new performance by the Woolton Irregulars premiers tonight at the Lantern Theatre. Catch it before it heads up to Edinburgh.

Fancy a bit of fringe theatre tonight? Head over to the increasingly interesting Lantern Theatre, Blundell Street, for the preview of ‘In Your Dreams’, a new play by Jeanie Jones, before it heads up toEdinburgh for a week’s residency at the Greenside.

The ‘Woolton Irregulars’ are returning to the Lantern Theatre with this comedy, inspired by the story of the Mechanicals from “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”.

“Set in a Liverpoolam-dram group full of chaos, romance and faded dreams, In Your Dreams weaves a tale of love, drama and terrible acting,” they tell us.

Well, that’s either terribly honest, or wonderfully ironic. Go see, and you can be the judge.

Their Edinburgh preview show will run from 7:30pm on Friday 19th August, at the Lantern Theatre, L1 0AJ. Tickets are priced at £5 and can be bought through the Lantern’s box office, 0151 703 0000. Tickets can also be bought through the Lantern Theatre website (http://www.thelanterntheatre.co.uk).
