We love the whole ‘live soundtrack’ thing that’s been happening more and more lately, with bands playing over visuals to bring extra, immersive dimensions to silent films. It’s a risky business: get it right and it’s spine-chillingly impressive, get it wrong and you’re left wishing you’d booked tickets to see Piranha 3D instead.

The next lot to have a go are the ever reliable Liverpool space-rock crew Mugstar. They’ll debut their own film ‘Ad Marginem’ - produced by the band’s Liam Yates - and provide their full soundtrack for it, live at the Bluecoat’s performance space. Check out the trailer above for a sneak preview.
