The Trestles: Ain’t That The Truth

The New Trestles single, Maggie's Farm #2 needs no geo-coding. It's unmistakably a song of the city.

Refreshing the parts the X Factor doesn’t reach, Liverpool’s pop conscience, The Trestles (featuring SevenStreets’ contrib, Alan O’Hare) continue to mine their particular brand of harmony-and-hook laden blue collar pop, with their new single Maggie’s Farm #2. Do we detect some Stuart Adamson-esque celtic-electric guitar on the stirring intro? Possibly. Slice The Trestles open and you’ll see they share more DNA with the Celtic Fringe than any other band playing the city’s circuit at the moment. And for that, we should be grateful.

The best music, like food and wine, should reek of authentic provenance, we always think. And The Trestles are unmistakably of this city, and of our blood.
