Radar: Ulrich Schnauss at Liverpool Kazimier

Awash with dreamy synths and sizzling guitars, Ulrich Schnauss can calm even the most savage of souls. Check him out this spring at the Kazimier.

German electronic pioneer Ulrich Schnauss brings his indie electronica to Liverpool this spring, with a rare city show. He’ll be promoting his new set, A Long Way To Fall, but no doubt diving into his sublime back catalogue of melancholic, percussive electronica. Teutonic beats with a warm heart. It’s spellbinding stuff, at turns (as with his Engineers work) blissful dream pop, and (on Goodbye) shoegazingly addictive. Not all chill out is aural wallpaper. If you let it, Schnauss’ fuzzy morphine glow transports you to a better place for a while.

Lighting by Nat Urazmetova

Support from the equally horizontal sounds of Marconi Union. Supplying the soundtrack will be DJ, James Holroyd under his ‘Begin’ guise.
