Radar: The Bear Social

Math rock and angular pop - with a dash of surf psyche - rolled into one this weekend...

Generating a nice little buzz at the Baltic, the Bear Social returns this weekend, with the angular, XTC-styled pop of Vasco Da Gama heading a meaty bill that also finds room for math rock crew Muto Leo, always-jovial Married to the Sea, and new-to-us surf-popsters Beach Skulls.

Expect the Mr Wolf Collective to dress the place up a treat, and the Bombarda DJs and Milk Projections and DJs to add a those all-important finishing touches. That, to us, sounds like the best excuse for escaping Slater Street on a Saturday that we’ve heard in a while.
