Radar: Take Care and Sun Electric album/label launch

The Sun Electric Band is launching a debut EP on their own label, Take Care, tonight at Mello Mello

We’ve waxed lyrical about our old pals The Sun Electric Band before - and tonight they’ll be launching their first EP on their label, Take Care.

In the midst of Liverpool Sport Day Hell - aka the Grand National and Everton versus Liverpool - the band will be launching their debut EP, Want To Feel Like… in the lovely surrounding of Mello Mello.

But there’s more. Much more. The EP will be released by the band’s label, Take Care, along with the debut album by Rusts and debut EP by Matt Reekie.

It should round off a good few weeks for The Sun Electric Band, who have been supporting the likes of John Head, playing with Gruff Rhys’ backing band and getting airplay from Tom Robinson on 6Music. They’ll also be supporting Herman Dune next week to round off a great week.

We’ve said before how much we like their stuff, but why take our word for it? You can listen, buy and find out more at The Sun Electric Band’s Band Camp page – or find out about the other acts at Take Care.

Review: Bravo Figaro!

— A very different kind of show from Mark Thomas is a beautiful piece of work that doesn't patronise his father's illness, not ignore his frailties, as they connect over a love of opera.
