Radar: Rosie Vanier and Roxanne de Bastion

Thrills and spills aplenty at MelloMello next month, when two of the most electrifying and distinctive female talents hit the city: one at the keys, one with guitar. Both worth your while.

What: MelloMello’s definitely got its groove back (not to mention some seriously tasty beers) and this gig is set to cement the venue’s place on the city’s live music circuit: Cornwall’s Rosie Vanier (ex Rosie and the Goldbug) brings her maverick blend of ”Kate Bush on crack with Goldfrapp on synths” (thanks, The Guardian) angsty pop to the Slater Street bar/cafe/venue/all round ace place.

She’s joined by Berlin born, London based Roxanne de Bastion, with her riotous, one-woman folk onslaught. Should be a ballsy night, then.

When: Friday, 4 November, MelloMello, Slater Street £5/£4
