Radar: French Pop at Magnet

Giddy French power pop ahoy, as two of the country's fastest rising indie stars head to the Magnet next month.

Fancy a bit of blood pumping French indie pop to kickstart your weekend? We like the sound of Scarletins, on this video’s evidence at least: and they’re playing with angsty electro-pop upstarts, Splash Macadam - French compatriots, and not short of a good tune themselves - at the Magnet on April 14.

It’s good to listen to what’s happening across La Manche, and France is sounding better than ever these days, so this - the first UK tour for both acts - promises to be an energetic showcase with just a soupçon more style.

They’re ably supported by our very own Cheap Thrills and Wet Mouth.

Refreshing to know, as Eurovision season comes around again, that not all Europop is drenched in derivative R’n'B-lite stylings and camp sequenced dancing (though we’ve a place in our hearts for that, too).
