The Rest is Noise

Not all Liverpool musicians are loud-mouths... introducing Minion TV

pic: Sentric Music

In theory, words and music should take equal billing in pop. But it’s rarely so. How many Liverpool bands are writing interesting lyrics these days? Well, that’s a moot point. Still, with Minion TV there’s no doubt: they’re not. But we love ‘em anyway. Post rock instrumentalists, their new, eponymous album is stuffed with a surfeit of great soundscapes, and soaring song craft. ‘Battleships’ has to be played, full volume, as you speed up the M62. Yeah, you’re only going to Ikea to get a new lamp, but with a soundtrack this good, heck, you might keep on truckin’ til Birch Services. Their debut album’s out now on iTunes.
