Now Playing: Thomas McConnell

Bright, harmony-laden pop to bring a little sunshine into your Monday morning blues, courtesy of Liverpool teenager Tom McConnell.

We get a lot of people asking us to listen to their stuff. And we do. And occasionally we go ‘oh, interesting…’. We went like that at the clever chord progressions and winning way with a melody offered by 19 year old Thomas McConnell. Nothing fancy, just good tunesmithery, nice arrangements and a winning way with overdubbed vocals.

Yes, it’s very Liverpool. Nothing to be ashamed of there. We’d recommend you watch his Soundcloud space. Check out Stop In The Shade and Penelope Definitely and tell us we’re wrong. Shades of Neil Finn, The Byrds and, dare we say it, even the High Flying Birds mark this teenager out for a bright future, we’d say. Live he’s been known to call himself Thomas McConnell’s Railway Lines. And why not.
