Na Na Na Night at House

Straight up guitar rock. Mightn't get much of a nod at the GITs, but it's found a happy home at House. Go check it out tonight.

Not at the GIT Awards tonight? Have no fear, there is a plan B. Hop over to House on Bold Street, where there’s a tasty line up of talent gathered together in the basement (and a DJ set from GIT shortlisted electronic man of mystery, Baltic Fleet) in the name of Na Na Na Night.

First up are Oxygen Theives. The Wirral four piece combining that peninsula- psychedelic thing with meaty guitar riffs.

Next up, The Shadow Theatre add a spike of grown up post-punk. Think Bauhaus, Black Angels and the Cure and, seeing as you’re already in a basement, Joy Division (and yes, their promo shots are in black and white. What of it?)

And headlining Na Na Na Night are the getting-better-everytime-we-hear-them Red Suns. Already winning support slots for British Sea Power, The Coral and The View, The Red Suns have a bag of cleverly crafted tunes that won’t leave your head without a punch up.

And after the bands, stick around for a DJ set from the groundbreaking Baltic Fleet. On the back of his second critically acclaimed album ‘Towers’, Baltic Fleet has started 2013 with a handful of well received remixes. Here he brings a DJ set of krautrock and electronic beats, intercepted by live sounds and electronics.

Na Na Na Night - it’s almost award winning.
