Music Lessons: Salem Rages

Like it a bit harder, sir? This week we go the way of the Goth, and get the sect tats and everything. We're outliers like that.

Who are they?

Featuring members of SSS, Cold Ones and Walk The Plank, Salem Rages have been peddling their unique take on goth-punk since 2010.

Why we approve

Having honed their craft for a couple of years, Salem Rages are beginning to cause quite a stir and a support slot with Fucked Up in Manchester this November will do little to abate their sonic onslaught. Meshing hardcore, punk, goth and a touch of no wave, they offer an exhilarating live experience. Couple this with a keenly created visual aesthetic that blends gothic darkness with punk rock snarl and you have a band that offers the full package.

Sound bite

“If The Curtain Fall isn’t the best slice of Liverpool punk rock you’ve heard in the last twelve months, you’re using your ears all wrong.” – Peter Guy
