Joan of Arc at Kazimier

Polyrhthmic cleverness ahoy as Chicago rock noodlers, Joan of Arc head to town this weekend.

Some record labels just get it, don’t they? Take Polyvinyl - less faceless imprint, more taste-making curator: where only the freshest, most inventive musicians make the roster. From the synthpop goodness of Norway’s Casiokids to the beautifully unhinged rock of Deerhoof, this is the kind of all killer no filler stable of acts most record labels would do well to take a long hard look at.

This Saturday sees Polyvinyl’s Chicago based Joan of Arc head to town - with their complex percussive rhythms and experimental brand of clever indie rock, their prodigious back catalogue encompasses chaotic punk and sample-driven electronica. In short, they’re the sort of band that plays havoc with your iTunes categories. And we salute them for it.

Live, they’re frenetic, full-on and frenzied. So catch them this Saturday, with the always excellent Hot Club, in another surefire Wingwalker production.
