Radar: Patrick Wolf at Epstein Theatre (plus: win tickets)

A songwriter to admire, and a back catalogue worth reinventing, Patrick Wolf heads back to town for an intimate theatre gig this Spring.

And they’re off…fresh from their midwinter break, everisland - one of the best promoters to burst into the city’s DNA last year - are kickstarting year 2 with a bit of a belter. The day-glo pop wonderkind, Patrick Wolf. He, too, is fresh from his acoustic stormer at Homotopia last year, and this show, at the Epstein, is further proof of the man’s charismatic back catalogue. He’s touring his introspective set, Sundark and Riverlight, celebrating ten years of sublime, baroque and wilfully (and thrillingly) self indulgent songs.

It’s a theatrical retrospective, and a chance to take stock of one man’s singular, and lavish, contribution to heady, elegant pop. Great to see everisland clinch this, and it’ll be interesting to see how they handle their first theatrical gig. Let’s hope they don’t get all grown up on us. Expect a clutch of top drawer support too, TBA.
