Erland and the Carnival comes to town

A band seemingly in thrall to the past, Erland and The Carnival bring their very particular brand of psych tinged Brit-folk to the marvellous surrounds of The Williamon Tunnels this Friday - for the tunnel’s 2011 opening party.

On the back of the acclaim gleaned by their second, critically vaunted long-player Nightingale, Erland and The Carnival forge a fruitful and distinctive furrow, around ex-Verve keyboardist Simon Tong, Orcadian folk guitarist/singer Gawain Erland Cooper and drummer/producer David Nock.

What’s more, they’re supported by LIPA graduate and all round folk-darling Hannah Peel and Candie Payne’s The Big House. Top acts and a top venue - one you’d be a fool to miss this April 1.
