Andrew Ellis, local promoter and DJ, is seeking to change all that with his new Gold Soundz venture, a night that plays the best music of the 80s and 90s. The first, last month, was a raucous success - the only place in the city where you could hear L7, Weezer, The Divine Comedy, Guided By Voices, The Human League (and, er, Coolio) back to back, free of irony. It’s like your favourite Spotify playlist come to life: an indie disco that’s actually decent. And we haven’t had one of those for years. Embrace it.
Gold Soundz II
