Radar: Four Tet at The Shipping Forecast

The UK's electronica king pencils in an intimate Liverpool night next month, fresh from offering up a free new album...

Local electronic-slash-dance-slash-whatever promoters Abandon Silence have been doing rather brilliant things over the past couple of years, and their recent move to the Masque shows Liverpool’s got quite a hunger for their excellently booked nights. They haven’t forgotten their original Shipping Forecast roots, though: the crew have bagged London’s finest electronic boffin Kieran Hebden, aka Four Tet, to play next month.

Originally scheduled for 31st January, it’s now been pushed back to 21st February after Hebden suffered a nasty ear perforation. Ouch. Hessle Audio label head Ben UFO has stepped in for the original date, though, and he’ll do a 3 hour set instead. What a gent.

Four Tet yesterday uploaded an entire album’s worth of unreleased rarities, ’0181′, to Soundcloud - stream it below for a taster of the jazz-tinged, intelligent, headstrong electronica you can expect next month at the Ship.
