Radar: Clean Cut Kid

Take a talented songwriter, and chuck in a captivating Grammy nominated vocalist. What've you got? A fantastic new Liverpool-based folk-pop project.

We get quite a lot of emails barging their way into our inbox, demanding for us to listen to a certain band. It’s impossible to write about them all - suffice to say, there’s a lot of music going on in this city right now - but we appreciated the recent tipoff about Clean Cut Kid, helmed by songwriter Mike Halls and featuring former Picture Book member Greta Svabo Bech. You might know her from the massive, Grammy nominated Deadmau5 tune ‘Raise Your Weapon‘, but she’s on fine form here with this new project. Debuting ‘Time To Let You Go’, Greta’s always-stunning voice cuddles up perfectly with Halls’ Paul Simon-esque croon, and their hypnotic, swirling pop is definitely one to keep an eye on. Or an ear. Whatever. We love the little Bon Iver nod towards the end, too.
