Whole Lotta Liv: Robert Plant to play the Olympia

The wailing Led Zep legend visits the city this October

This is a bit of a surprising one - it’s been announced Robert Plant is to play a gig at the Olympia this autumn.

The date, on 21st October, is part of a brief nationwide tour to promote new album ‘Band Of Joy’, named after Plant’s very first band. We’re presuming, alongside his new material, you’ll be hearing a bunch of Led Zeppelin classics and hopefully some bits from his excellent album with Alison Krauss too. We’re certainly looking forward to this one.

Alongside the previously announced Echo and the Bunnymen gigs there, it’s nice to see the Olympia getting used as a major gig venue too, don’t you think?
