Hometown boy: Paul McCartney at Echo Arena

Another former Beatle makes a live return to the city, booking in a show at the Echo Arena this winter. And no, it's not Ringo. Phew!

Paul McCartney Echo ArenaHe’s been good to the city in the past, and a recent sold-out-in-about-ten-seconds show at Carling Academy drew rave reviews. So we’re pleased to hear ‘thumbs aloft’ Paul McCartney’s coming back to Liverpool again - and this time giving more than a few hundred die-hards the chance to see him live.

The former Beatle, who got married this weekend, is set to bring his huge tour to the Echo Arena on 20th December. His live band, who’ve spent the past few months criss-crossing America, are one of the finest and tightest you’ll hear - bringing stadium rock crunch to Macca’s impressive back catalogue.

We’re in no doubt this one will sell out in no time, but rightly so: his mixture of solo hits and Beatles classics makes up for an impressive career-spanning spectacular.
