Canada calling: Zeus at the Kazimier

Well-connected Canadian rockers Zeus bring their thrilling pop to the city this weekend

We’ve been inundated with excellent Canadian acts playing in the city of late. Thanks to events like Canadian Blast and Mellowtone, we’ve seen a varied bunch of artists pass through - The Pack A.D, Forest City Lovers, The Wilderness of Manitoba and Holy F*ck have all plied their wares in front of Liverpool crowds recently.

Next up are the excellent Zeus, who visit the Kazimier this weekend by promoters 2North. Part of the country’s highly respected Arts & Crafts label (home to Feist and Phoenix amongst others), Zeus are mates with legendary Canadian collective Broken Social Scene and work a similar kind of euphoric pop, taking in classic rock ‘n’ roll and joyful harmonies along the way. Their stop in the city is part of a short UK tour, and well worth a stroll down to the Kazimier this Sunday to check out. While you’re there you’ll also be able to witness hotly tipped locals Owls* and Deer Park, who support.
