CALM presents RESET at Shipping Forecast

Picturebook and friends help former Liverpool-based charity CALM promote new magazine RESET with a gig at the Shipping Forecast.

CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably), a charity that supports young men struggling with life, has always seemed like something worth supporting in Liverpool over the years; in a past life SevenStreets actually volunteered to be acupunctured to promote the charity and its services.

Having relaunched in 2006 as a national charity, breaking out of its original Merseyside roots, CALM is now producing RESET; a magazine concerning “the psyche of the modern day young man”. If you’re thinking Nuts or Zoo then let’s face it - you’re probably way off track here.

RESET promises some lifestyle-y articles and interviews alongside advice and contributions from famous - and not-so-famous - people on how they tackled stress and depression, and how they turned their lives around. We’ve had a browse online, it’s good.

To promote the mag, CALM and its partner Top Man are launching a series of gigs featuring local music talent.

A Liverpool gig takes place tomorrow night at The Shipping Forecast with SevenStreets favourites Picturebook playing alongside live sets from Delphic, Kid British, Gareth Brooks and Funkademia.

Much more fun that having needles stuck in you.

You can pick up a free copy of RESET in Top Man branches in Liverpool, Manchester and London
