Biennial Radar: WCS Order Of Nothing

Go down to the woods this month, for an audio visual encounter with the spirits of the forest, and a last hurrah for this year's Biennial...

Head down, deep into the forest, for the last event in Wolstenholme Creative Space’s excellent Inhospitable Landscape installation. As Ash trees fall across the country, celebrate the primeval lure of our native woodlands, as WCS crew commission SevenStreets’ favourites, Sun Drums to conjure up a suitably spectral soundscape to accompany their exhibition.

Order of Nothing (a piece currently being played throughout the installation at WCS) is an exploratory music commission created by collective Sun Drums as part of the Inhospitable Landscape Biennial show. At ten minutes long, it is a dark, aggressive and industrial electronic piece that explores themes of alienation, hostility and dystopia to devastating effect.

Inspired by a new technological and industrial revolution and the superseding of digital machinery over human labour, the piece begins bleak and mechanical before giving way to a more human kind of fear and isolation. And, should you attend the event, you could receive one of 100 copies of the record on the night.

Together with The HIVE Collective DJ’s and Kepla, this promises to be an electrifying event.

It’ll also be one of the last chances to see the exhibition before it closes permanently and an opportunity to see live musicians play within their unique installation.
