Brunch at Lark Lane's Moon and Pea may be delicious, but it isn't just about the food.

On any given day off during Monday–Friday, we can be found having a mooch down Lark Lane, an altogether nicer, more interesting, more friendly place by day, and midweek.

Shorn of the patrons of local bars spilling out of various drinking establishments and the rat’s rally of cabs crowding the street, Lark Lane’s mo-bo-ho strip is a leafy and relaxing place to be at the right time.

A browse in The Amorous Cat and that gift shop on the corner, a mooch in Remains to be Seen, perhaps a hair cut in Paul the Barber’s or House of Poland? Why not stop for a chat at the various delis and newsagents? The biscuits and fancies in Balberos are always worth a look.

But if you’re feeling really peckish, then try the Moon and Pea, a quirky little cafe or restaurant or coffee shop - depending on how you look at it.

This is where SevenStreets goes for a midweek feed, and there’s generally only one thing on the menu as far as we’re concerned: The Moon Breakfast, and enormous and delicious cooked English breakfast with the works, and plenty of ‘em.

The dishes are simple but full of flavour and strong of ingredient. There are plenty of veggie options and there are added delights like Eggs Benedict, Fentimans drinks and home-made granola.

There are evening menus at night too, which lends a completely different vibe. But that’s for another day. And if you really like what you taste pop over the road to the Moon and Pea deli and pick up something for tea.

But it’s not just the food. It’s about the decor, the staff and the whole ethos of it all. The Moon and Pea is what Lark Lane should be all about.
