Come Dine At Mine

Get your friends together, cook them something wonderful, raise money for Clatterbridge Cancer Centre. What could be better? Oh, ok, get a takeaway then.

Clatterbridge cancer centre have linked up with BBC Radio Merseyside for next weekend’s Come Dine @ Mine, one huge dinner party, taking place across the city, next Saturday February 5th. The hope is that, over the event, they’ll raise£30,000 for their Relatives Room Appeal.

We’re fortunate to have a world class resource like Clatterbridge on our doorstep, so the least we can do is bash a packet of Digestives to wheel out our mandarin cheesecake one more time, don’t you think?

Candle-lit suppers ahoy…

To get you into the party spirit there will be a special Come Dine @ Mine with me show on BBC Radio Merseyside with Linda McDermott and friends getting the conversation underway and playing the perfect dinner party soundtrack. We’re hoping for James Last with a side order of Throbbing Gristle. And, when we want the guests to leave, let’s hope she cracks open the Westlife.

To register for a pack please email [email protected] or call 0151 482 7948.

The Come Dine @ Mine pack contains:

• A donation envelope for your friends’ contributions

• Blank menus and ideas from Merseyside chefs and BBC Radio Merseyside presenters

• Invitations to make sure everyone is on the guest list

• Quiz sheets

• Place cards

• Gift Aid form: just fill in the details and the charity can make your donation go even further.

Extra Portions

The Liverpool Cookbook have added their support to the event, offering the book for just £6, (RRP £14.99) to all of those who sign up to receive a Come Dine @ Mine Party Pack.

The cookbook, a TrinityMirror publication, is really rather great - lots of tasty pictures and recipe ideas from the city’s great and good, and Liz McClarnon.

We’ve had a flick through, and top marks to the team who put it together. There’s a tendency for this type of city based cookbook to be all crust and no filling. This one breaks the mould. In a good way.

You can order the book at Trinity’s Merseyshop, their online book store, here.
