Grub hub: West Kirby Food and Drink Festival

Take advantage of a week's worth of great offers and events, as one of the Wirral's gems gets its own foodie fest.

West Kirby

West Kirby’s lovely, right? The beach, the marine lake, the oodles of hills and greenery nearby. And not forgetting that view.

What you might not realise is that the town’s also got a thriving scene of really quite special restaurants, bistros and bars, and next week they’re coming together in the form of the first ever Food & Drink Festival.

The event, kicking off properly from the 24th October, sees venues offer a selection of £5 specials across the week - we like the sound of the Red Door’s sea bass with chilli and Aubergine’s pumpkin soup. Better still? A quid from each of the meals goes to charity.

As well as that, there’s also venue-specific offers and events every night of the week, from hillbilly and poker themed evenings to, er, a George Michael tribute act.

It’s not just night time dining, either: you’ll find a whole slew of breakfast and lunchtime offers, too. Shops are getting in on the act as well, with fishmonger TS Hughes and greengrocer Lunts also supporting the festival. Basically, it sounds like a great way to experience one of the region’s finest towns, and eat a tonne of great food while you’re at it.

Read the full details and listings for the event over at Visit West Kirby.
