Laura J Martin’s Campfire Tales

Laura J Martin. She's not like other girls. Check out her loopy folk and fall in love...

Great to hear Liverpool’s Laura J Martin getting pride of place on the latest (excellent) Rob da Bank Campfire special on Radio 1. SevenStreets has been a fan of this flute totin folkstress for, like, ages. Even after she upped flutes and moved to Leeds. Leeds?

Looping textures, mandolins and beats together into a delicious, folky soup, she’s on the way to somewhere even bigger than our West Yorkshire near neighbours.

Still, let’s remember the heady days when she could be spotted doodling about on the steps of the Blackie. Come home, Laura, we love you.
