Good, Becoming Cyclonic

The Shipping Forecast docks in Liverpool

Good news: The Shipping Forecast has come to Liverpool. The team behind hip London pub Amersham Arms have docked in the ‘questionable nightlife’ quarter of town. Occupying the old Flares site on Slater Street (told you), The Shipping Forecast is the polar opposite of Lloyd’s Number One.

Offering up a much-needed slice of eclectic beats, The Shipping Forecast offers funk, soul, indie, acid jazz (oh god, spare us the Young Disciples, though, please) and afro. And, when Gilles Peterson’s in town, probably all in the space of one very sweaty set. Attention all shipping - the fight to regain this corner of town has begun. See you at Mr Chips afterwards?

Giles Peterson @ The Shipping Forecast, Slater Street. Sunday 30 May.
