To mark Ada Lovelace Day, celebrating the achievements of women in science and tech, the rather wonderful DoES Liverpool is holding an open day for women at their Hanover St HQ this Friday the 7th October.

All of the services of DoES Liverpool will be free for use by women. Which means you can hot desk, wifi, workshop, brainstorm, network or otherwise surf the special loveliness that co-working and collaborative culture brings.

Men, you can come too. But shell out, lads. It’s the least you can do. Or bring cake.

DoES Liverpool exists to nurture, encourage and stimulate Liverpool’s growing community of software developers, crafters, makers and electronics mavens into sharing ideas, experimenting and and developing their ideas, start-ups or world domination plans.

But it’s also a place to meet new collaborators, or friends, over cake - or listen to talks, as part of their Maker Nights and Liverpool GeekUp events, about stuff like building cool new gizmos (such at the Twitter-bothering bot, Bubblino, above) or open source electronics. And everyone, irrespective of ability, is welcomed with open electronic arms.
