The Bicycle Film Festival

Pack up your panniers with popcorn as the tenth Bicycle Film Festival puffs its way up Wood Street for a three day celebration of everything pedal power at FACT.

The curiously titled Bicycle Film Festival heads to FACT next month.

What’s it all about? Surely it’s not a film festival about Bicycles is it?

Well, yes, actually, it is. But it’s more than that - it’s a hub (oh dear) of events celebrating all things pedal power.

It began in New York City, and has, over the past decade, grown into something of a monster - a global event that travels from Milan to Tokyo, Minneapolis to Sydney, held in 30 cities worldwide, with 300,000 people expected to attend this year.

Film highlights for the Liverpool BFF this year include Birth of Big Air, the much anticipated documentary on legendary BMX’er Mat Hoffman, produced by Spike Jonze; and Where Are You Go, by veteran BFF filmmaker Benny Zenga, following an epic bicycle journey from Cairo to Capetown.

The Liverpool Festival will also play host to:

A night of Roller Racing presented by the Great Northern Rollers at The Kazimier
A special Sunday pub live viewing of the classic Paris-Roubaix race
BMX demos and tricks demos
Bicycle scavenger hunt
