From Billy Butler’s Mersey Pirate, to Neil Buchanan’s Art Attack, we’ve always been a city that’s known how to entertain kids. And now, the BBC is looking for the next generation of kiddie amusers (something about that phrase sounds wrong, but you know what we mean). So can you make kids laugh? Apart from when you’re trying to throw some shapes to Tinie Tempah, that is? If so, get your showreel ready, and maybe, just maybe, you could be the next star of CBBC.

Here’s the deal:

CBBC is looking for people who can make children aged 6-12 laugh. The shortlisted entrants will be invited to one of three Laughter Lab workshops taking place in the North West, including one in Merseyside. Clips must be only 2 minutes or less, the minimum age limit for applicants is 18 plus, and you must have been either born in the North West of England or currently living here.

The deadline for all applications to arrive is 6pm, Friday 25th February 2011.
