Help Japan

"What can I do?" is often the anguished response to a distant natural disaster. Liverpool has an answer.

“What can I do?” is often the anguished response to a distant natural disaster.

And often the answer is that there’s very little one can do to mitigate the suffering of someone so remote.

However, Liverpool is doing what it can and there’s another event designed to raise funds in response to the Japanese earthquake and tsunami in the shape of a number of performances from local outfits and a whole truck-full of prizes.

The event, Help Japan, is at Leaf this Friday, and will see the likes of post-rock outfit MinionTV performing alongside Tone Puppets and Bird, as well as acoustic solo artist Mark Magill.

Prizes include tours of Cains brewery and Goodison Park; a VIP trip on the big wheel; Liverpool Sound City festival wristbands and loads of signed merch from the likes of The Wombats, Vessels and Wave Machines. There are also framed pictures from local snappers like Sakura.

That’s what you can do.

Don’t forget, also, the fantastic Print Aid project. We’ve just received our prints today, and they’re even better in real life than they look on the site. Go check ‘em out - there’s new photographers signing up daily.
