Review

It’s occasionally a hit and miss affair at Lunya, a rare independent restaurant in Liverpool One. The hits are, without a doubt, the cured Iberico meats, morcello, Galician and Basque fish dishes, cured tuna loin and Tempranillo wines, which go down far too easily with a saucer of salty Hojiblanco olives. We think this place will be excellent when it settles down, and puts more emphasis on accurate service. But, still, this is one of the best Spanish restaurants in the city: and the owners’ passion definitely shines through.

you’re right about accuracy of service - not great.
thought the food was good, but very VERY overpriced compared to any other tapas bar I’ve ever been to (even in London)

We have been three times, in the first week they opened (hit and miss service, but still better than lots of others), in June and last week. The food has been superb and the service has been great and consistently good - friendly and knowledgeable waiters and waitresses who are great with our little one. I think their prices are really reasonable for the quality of their food. For the two of us, with 4 tapas each and dessert (equivalent to a 3 course meal) bill works out at about £18 a head. Really good value. wine is exceptional. Got a friend who is a Sanish wine expert and he says best list he has seen on Spanish wine and incredible value. On a different level to all of Liverpool’s spanish. restaurants. a lot of staff colleagues have been in our place and they rave about it.
