Liverpool in fog

Whether it’s The Mist, Silent Hill or, well The Fog, fog is rarely a harbinger of good things in fictional accounts.

And people of seafaring heritage might look fearfully out to the Mersey on such days, as the fog banks roll across the the marshy middens of Hoylake and West Kirby.

Liverpool was transported back to Victorian times yesterday, or the Blitz at least (they being the two periods of recent British history we associate most with fog) as a dense, freezing, heavy mist shrouded the city.

We rounded up some Liverpool tweets to see what people in the city were seeing. Turns out, they were mainly seeing fog.
