Radar: Freeze clubnight at St George’s Hall

I think it’s fair to say that here at Seven Streets we are well up for a bit of culture. Art galleries, niche plays, dead old buildings with loads of statues outside – they are all bang up our street.

We’re also up for a good night out. And so when the opportunity presents itself to combine the two, you can bet we’ll be first in the queue, we are enthusiasts in the art of multitasking.

Flippant humour aside, we do love culture and we do love going out. Liverpool is a city filled with stunning architecture and we applaud anyone who has the gumption to do something a little bit different with it.

Step forward the Freeze team. After last year’s super impressive event in the Anglican Cathedral, they’re back with something even bigger and better. Using the impressive neo-classical surroundings of St George’s Hall – which was originally built as a venue for music festivals in the 1850s – they’ve collaborated with Renaissance to celebrate their 20 year anniversary.

Taking place on Saturday, September 15th, the event will see the Grade I listed building reverberate to the sounds of some of dance music’s biggest names – Hernan Cattaneo, Henry Saiz, Danny Howells, Ghosting Season and Jemmy, plus a very special guest DJ still to be announced. Suffice to say, you probably won’t be dancing like they are in that picture.

The gig marks a return to Liverpool for Cattaneo and Howells, who both delivered awe-inspiring sets at the Cathedral last year and we’d recommend that you catch Henry Saiz who has had a storming year so far after cleaning up in the Spanish DJ Mag awards.

The event is on till 1am and for those who don’t want the party to stop, there is an after party held in a top secret venue (well, not *that* top secret – give us a tenner and we’ll tell you where it is) which is on till 6am. After that, we recommend you go home, you dirty stopout.

Tickets are on sale now and continuing Freeze’s emotional commitment to Breast Cancer awareness, a percentage of all ticket sales will be donated to the cause.
