Radar - Tonight: Rikki Beadle Blair at FACT

Forget your summer blockbusters, go for a night at the cinema like no other - as Rikki Beadle Blair heads to FACT tonight for a special screening and Q and A session.

After three successful screenings so far, the Liverpool Pride film programme hots up with two powerful films: Bashment and Leave It On The Floor, showing at FACT.

Bashment is the new film from Rikki Beadle Blair and his company Team Angelica, and will be screened on August 30 (that’s tonight). It is, we’re told the story of JJ, a white, gay rapper making his way in the underground urban music scene. “The film challenges attitudes of sexuality, race, disability and class, whilst gripping its audience with action and emotion,” says Liverpool Pride. Blair’s probably best known in Liverpool for hosting the Vogue balls and last year’s never-to-be-forgotten Camp as Christmas show at the Dome.

Director Rikki Beadle Blair will be at the screening for a Q&A session after the film where he will discuss his inspiration for working with the film’s themes.
