Jens Lekman - I Know What Love Isn’t

ALBUM The only thing missing from Camp and Furnace’s rather lovely Swedish weekender? Swedish music, like the talented Jens Lekman’s new and wonderful third album. More wistful than his previous work (it is a break up album after all) it’s still stuffed with classic pop hooks and warm, self-depricating humour.

Bold Street Festival, Bold Street, 30th September

EVENT The annual celebration of one of the city’s most historic, wonderfully independent streets happens again this Sunday. There’s live music and performance up and down the street, in store promotions, a vintage fair at Leaf, comedy, stuff for kids and loads more. Starts at 12pm. More information

‘Cloud’

ART A beautiful, rather joyful art installation and interactive sculpture by Canadian artist Caitlind Brown. Presented at Art Nuit Calgary, it consists of 6,000 lightbulbs, jumbled together to resemble a glowing cloud. Don’t fancy paying that ‘leccy bill.

Abandon Silence Carnival Special, The Shipping Forecast, 27 September

CLUBNIGHT From wistful Swedes to arms-aloft vibes courtesy of the smile-inducing Abandon Silence crew and their surefooted curation of the best dubstep, electronica and disco. BLOG Took a turn off Edge Lane and ended up in Mumbai? You’ll enjoy this, then: a new Tumblr featuring the very worst mistakes of Apple’s Maps iPhone app, which replaces the rather brilliant Google Maps. The shoddy, much derided new maps functionality is documented here in all its inaccurate, pixellated, weirdly shaped horror.
