Radar: ‘Selected’ film & video showcase at FACT

A night in the company of the country's most talented up-and-coming video artists and filmmakers, all for free. Hooray!

Film and moving image is often sneered at in the art world - it’s too easy! It’s not proper art! It’s just a guy with a camcorder pissing about!

Well, that’s a load of rubbish. Moving image can be just as affecting and engaging as other media, and a night at FACT this season is set to bring its best new talent to the city.

‘Selected’ is a touring programme of work, curated by artists nominated for the prestigious Film London Jarman Award. Those artists have picked their favourite up ‘n’ coming whippersnappers - the likes of Anonymous Bosch, Nicholas Keogh, Daniel Swan and Benedict Drew (above) - to form a programme of ace film work, touring cinemas across the country.

The screening at FACT is free, and some of the artists will even be there to introduce their work and answer questions. If you’re looking to delve into the next big things in the art world, then this is a perfect, easy, and cheap place to start.
