SevenStreets is on a break for the summer while we top up our tan. We'll be back in September with an all-new website, and a brand new issue of Almanac. Stay tuned.

Win Tickets to The Whisky Lounge

Whisky-Tasting-Image-539x199

Ours? It alternates between a Clynelish Double Wood and a Scapa 16 year old. What’s yours? What’s certain is if your whisky knowledge is ringfenced by the shelves at Sainsbury’s, be prepared to enter a whole new universe of phenol, peat and flavour. This Saturday, the Whisky Lounge returns to Liverpool - bringing its caravan of kiosks showcasing the very best cask strength, limited edition, award winning and esoteric whiskies from around the world (but mostly from Scotland, thankfully).

Sip your way around the Camp bit of Camp and Furnace, little tasting glass in hand, and discover your new favourites in this educational, enlightening and enjoyable day out. Take a taster course to discover the complexities and nuances of chill filtering, malting and mashing. And find out what makes an Islay put hairs on your chest.

The big hitters are will be represented, but the smaller bottlers are definitely worth seeking out too. Every exhibitor is ready and willing to give you a wee dram, and - as they know their whiskies inside out - they’ll be able to answer all and any whisky related questions you may have. Like, have you any more?

This year, you can dive even deeper into the waters of life, and pay for a few tokens (white for £2.50 and black for £5). These ‘under the the Counter drams’ are rare, super aged or otherwise remarkable whiskies: allowing you to sip something truly special without forking out hundreds on a bottle.

Early bird tickets are £20, or it’s £30 on the door. But we’ve a pair of tickets to win. Simply ‘Like’ this post on Facebook, or hunt out our tweet and RT it.

Cheers!
