Celebrate the best of Liverpool's architecture, and start thinking about how your garage extension might even add to it. It's the Love Architecture Festival.

rsz_sandcastle_3Anything that gives us the chance to bathe in the beauty Of Time And The City on the big screen is OK by us. So roll on this year’s Love Architecture Festival.

The ten day celebration of the built form takes over the city at the end of the week, with fun stuff for budding Le Corbusiers everywhere - build a Lego version of our house? Why the heck not? Probably last longer than some of the luxury apartments cluttering the waterfront…

Here’s a few highlights we’ve picked out:

Ask an Architect
Saturday 22 June, 11am – 5pm, John Lewis Liverpool, FREE
Looking to revamp or extend your home, head to John Lewis for free advice.

Sandcastle Competition
Sunday 23 June, 1pm – 4pm, West Kirby, FREE
Get down to West Kirby beach to show off your sandcastle building skills and compete against other teams to win a prize.

Of Time and the City Screening
Saturday 29 June, 3pm – 5pm, FACT
Terence Davies’ interpretation of Liverpool past and present blends a poetic early account of his life with contemporary and archive footage. The afternoon will start with a talk on the architecture of Liverpool.

Metropolis Screening
Sunday 30 June, 5pm – 7.30pm, FACT, charge applies
Fritz Lang’s 1927 masterpiece is an iconic futuristic fairy tale which has been digitally restored to include 30 minutes that was lost to the world for 80 years.
